The aim of the project is to develop risk management strategies for inherently safer design of bio- and nano-enabled products that are commonly used in medical applications. Concomitantly, understanding what makes bionanomaterials toxic and how to make them safe will lead the development of an integrated risk management framework to assist making progress towards inherently safer design of bionanomaterials while preserving their original features and functionality.
